The present study adopted survey methodology focusing on sample fromteacher educators working in teacher education institutions. The most common social networking sites are YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Skype, LinkedIn etc.There are two major approaches of online teaching:synchronous teaching (like audio-video conferencing tools, live chat, shared whiteboard, online slide shows etc.) and asynchronous teaching (e-mail, file attachments etc.). Social networking sites and online teaching tools are playing a significant role in teaching-learning process. A large number of students and teachers in higher educational institutions as well as in teacher education institutions are using mobile devices for connecting.
